The Young50 project has published its 6th newsletter.

This edition of the newsletter places emphasis, in particular, on the Consortium Meeting, held last June 27th and 28th in Bilbao: the first meeting in the presence of the Consortium since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as on the second evaluation feedback drafted by the partner “Ca’ Foscari University Foundation.” This evaluation report describes the state of the art of the project after the first 33 months, providing evidence of compliance with the project status, achievement of the set objectives, any deviations with explanations, and corrective actions taken or proposed for implementation.

The newsletter also recounts the invitation that came to the YOUNG50 coordination team to contribute to an online discussion on “Addressing Cardiovascular Health in a Changed and Changing World.” The titled event held on May 16 was organized by the independent think tank Friends of Europe, in collaboration with the European Alliance for Cardiovascular Health (EACH).

In addition, the newsletter includes (a) the launch of the EACH Cardiovascular Health Plan; (b) the kick-off of the “Healthier Together” initiative by the EC; (c) the promotion of the new European Society of Cardiology survey; (d) the publication of the “cardiovascular disease statistics 2021” report by the European Society of Cardiology; (d) presentation of the EC Study on interactions between physical activity and body weight; and (e) the launch of the MECKI score: the index that calculates the risk of death from heart failure
