European organisations join forces to put a spotlight on cardiovascular health

On 27 September, the European Alliance for Cardiovascular Health was launched during a policy debate attended by representatives of European Commission, Member States and European Parliament. The main goal of this Alliance is to call for a comprehensive EU policy response to improve the cardiovascular health of European citizens.

Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the leading cause of death worldwide. In 2019, an estimated 17.9 million people died from CVD, represE https://www.cardiovascular-alliance.eu/ enting 32% of all global deaths. To ensure that Europe’s strategy for tackling CVD matches the scale of this challenge, the Alliance brings together 15 leading European and international organisations representing the full range of health actors.
